About Keep Mac Awake

Keep Mac Awake keeps a MacBook with Apple silicon awake with the lid closed, with no external display, keyboard or mouse, so AI coding agents, builds and downloads keep running while you are away. You start each session from the menu bar or the keepmacawake command: no limit, 1 hour, 8 hours or a custom length. A timed session ends on time and normal sleep returns; a session never starts by itself. Sessions run on AC power by default and wait if you unplug. Battery use is optional, down to a floor you pick. A separate watchdog restores the normal sleep setting if the app's background service or the system service stops or hangs. For AI agents, the command answers in JSON with documented exit codes, and a free plugin with an Agent Skill and an MCP server teaches Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Copilot CLI to use it. No account, no analytics and no logs in the app. Developer ID signed and notarized, for any Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 26 or later. Free trial.
