But on a Mac, double-clicking a .docx launches the heavyweight desktop app, and a file in Downloads or on your Desktop can't be opened online at all until you upload it yourself. Open in Office Web is a tiny native app (under 2 MB, no Electron) that becomes the default app for Office documents and does the rest for you: Files already in OneDrive open straight in Word, PowerPoint or Excel for the web. Files anywhere else (Desktop, Downloads, an email attachment) are copied to a OneDrive folder. The app waits until OneDrive has finished uploading and then opens the copy online. Sync back: edits you make online are copied back to the original file, and edits to the original go up to OneDrive. Native sync status: progress comes from macOS's File Provider API, the same source Finder uses for its cloud icons. Nothing is guessed. Falls back gracefully: if OneDrive is offline or an upload fails, you get one click to open the file in the desktop app instead. ### Rollcage > A menu-bar seatbelt for AI coding agents: snapshots, undo and guardrails - Page: https://macbrowse.com/developer-tools/rollcage - Price: Paid, $10 - Category: Developer Tools - Tags: Menu bar, AI, Native, One-time purchase, Backup - Website: https://rollcage.app Rollcage sits in your menu bar and watches over AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor's agent and Aider. When an agent starts, Rollcage takes an instant APFS clone of your project folders. If the agent deletes or mangles files, you get an alert, see exactly what changed, and put it back in a click. Undo a whole session or restore single files. The Guard stops agents before they do damage. It blocks reading secret files like .env and keys, environment dumps, destructive commands such as git reset --hard and force pushes, and connections to paste and tunnel sites. It also catches keys before they get committed or pushed. It also scans agent transcripts for leaked API keys, logs where agents connect, shows memory and CPU per agent, tracks tokens and plan limits, and cleans up what agents store on your Mac. $10 once per Mac, updates included. ### Tunnoryx > Tunnoryx - Page: https://macbrowse.com/developer-tools/tunnoryx - Price: Free - Category: Developer Tools - Tags: AI, Terminal - Website: https://tunnoryx.com/ An SSH client for macOS, Windows & Linux with end-to-end encrypted sync — hosts, keys, snippets, port forwards.
