Scrawl
Handwrite on your Mac's trackpad. No tablet, no stylus.

About Scrawl
Scrawl turns your MacBook's trackpad into a writing surface, so you can jot ideas in your own handwriting without a tablet or stylus. Your finger is the pen: touch and write, no clicking or holding. Where you touch on the trackpad is where the ink lands. Lines get thicker when you press harder, wobble is smoothed out, and a palm resting on the edge is ignored. Zoom in to write small, and writing mode moves you to the next line on its own once you pause at the end of a line. A quick zig-zag scratches out a mistake, and a two-finger double tap undoes. Pages scroll down forever, and you can export as PNG or PDF. No account, works offline, and your notes are saved on your Mac. Free and open source (MIT). Requires macOS 14 or later.
